Rest + Reprieve Grants$1,500 - $2,500 Grant Awards
Black + Indigenous
Bodied Women Eligible
A message fromAddiEun Foundation
Rest is resistance because, for Black + Indigenous women, the demand to keep going—to produce, to serve, to endure without pause—is never neutral.
This act of resistance rejects the system that profits from the exhaustion of Black + Indigenous women.
Rest is not the absence of work. It is the refusal to let your worth be measured by it.
Rest is not a luxury. It is an act of resistance.
The Rest + Reprieve Grant exists for one purpose: to give Black + Indigenous women the space to stop—without explaining it, defending it or justifying it.
You do not need to perform, produce, or prove your worth to deserve care. This grant funds the time, space, and resources your mind and body need to recover, reflect, and return to your community with renewed strength.
When Black + Indigenous women rest, they tend to themselves. When they are able to tend to themselves, they are better able to tend to their families, their communities, and their collective future.
This process outlines four honest steps between you and rest.

We believe that Black + Indigenous women deserve rest without guilt or conditions. Rest is resistance. Tending to yourself is sacred. We provide grants rooted in dignity—no performance, no judgment. Your desire for rest is enough.

A world where Black + Indigenous women reclaim rest as a right to restorative power.
We recognize that Black and Indigenous women are disproportionately impacted by systemic oppression, burnout, and lack of access to wellbeing resources. This grant exists because we believe you deserve rest without judgment. Tending to yourself is not selfish—it is revolutionary.
These values guide how we distribute resources, evaluate opportunities, and remain accountable to our people + purpose.
Black + Indigenous women define the conditions of their own rest and reprieve. No performance. No justification.
White body supremacy operates through the belief that some bodies are more deserving than others. We counter this myth through a giving practice grounded in abundance—recognizing that Black + Indigenous women do not need to earn reprieve.
Black + Indigenous women are not alone in their exhaustion. We hold each other’s rest as sacred ground and affirm collective care as a source of strength.
We do not merely opt out of white body supremacy—we work to disrupt the systems that deny rest and self-determination to entire communities. Rest itself is resistance.
Rest creates space beyond survival. From reprieve comes vision, possibility, creativity, and the ability to imagine new futures.
Communities that replenish together grow stronger together. Reprieve spaces become connective tissue that sustains collective action and movement building.
We invest in conditions that compound power across generations, strengthening the capacity of future Black + Indigenous women to thrive and lead.
Black + Indigenous women are not beneficiaries to be managed—they are the authority to which we are accountable. Our responsibility is to remain answerable to community.
We do not simply manage resources; we tend them. Every investment is a seed returned to soil, intended to leave stronger conditions for future generations. Regeneration is not a strategy—it is a responsibility.
